JJK Men: Who is Most Likely to Have a Daddy Kink
Warning: this contains smut but not like... explicit smut. More so NSFW talk about kinks and such hehe
A/N: Listen... I used to have a real big daddy kink and I grew out of it forever ago... but sometimes y'all use "daddy" just right in some of your fics and it has me kicking my feet. So, for funzies, I wanted to share my personal HCs on who has a daddy kink and who doesn't lol
Tumblr media
Geto Suguru
Sitting pretty and number one is none other than Suguru. Listen, I think this man has a massive daddy kink. I think this man gets off on you calling him daddy in and out of the bedroom. Like honestly? If you are really into it just like he is, he wouldn't mind it if you called him daddy all the time. Like, maybe save for calling him daddy in public or around friends. But in the privacy of your own home? In bed? When no one else can hear you? He'll be putty in your hands if you sweetly call him daddy. Part of the reason I say this is because I think Suguru is 100% a brat tamer, I think he lives for you being a little brat to him just so he can assert his authority over you and put you in your place. He thrives off of the ability to feel superior.
But, roughness aside, he will absolutely give you the best aftercare. Suguru will make sure you know how loved you are, he will constantly ask you for your reassurance that you are alright and he wasn't too hard on you. He'll shower you in love and praise and assure you that you are everything to him. He can get mean when he's in the mood to put you in your place, so he always prioritizes the aftercare.
2. Nanami Kento
I think Nanami has a daddy kink but he's kind of shy about it. Nanami actively hopes that you take the initiative and call him daddy. He's a bit embarrassed about the fact that he really likes the idea of being called daddy. He fantasizes about it when you aren't around to help him get off, stroking himself to the idea of you whispering that one word to him when he fucks you stupid. If you aren't going to take the initiative and call Nanami daddy, he'll eventually give in. He'll likely be balls deep in you when he grits out that you are to call him daddy. He'll be too lost in your body to even feel shame or embarrassment about the request and fuck will he come fast when you finally utter that one pretty word to him. All breathless and fucked out, you'll have Nanami falling apart every time you call him daddy.
Nanami also enjoys alternatives to Daddy, like calling him "sir". Unlike Suguru, he enjoys how respectful it sounds. Nanami won't make you call him daddy or sir outside of the bedroom, it's strictly a sex thing for him unless you express the interest in trying it outside of that scenario. Then, just maybe, Nanami will entertain the thought.
3. Ryomen Sukuna
Before you come and chew me out for the king not being at the top of this list... hear me out. Sukuna is from the Heian period, the man canonically speaks in old Japanese. Hell he asked Megumi to bewitch him. The term "daddy" is a little too new for Sukuna. That's not to say he won't grow to find interest in it. Sukuna much prefers when you call him things like "my king" or "my lord" he even enjoys "sir". But daddy will definitely take some getting used to for him. Once Sukuna gets acquainted with the idea, he will thoroughly enjoy it. He rather likes how flustered you get when you utter the word, making you say it in front of others just to watch them get uncomfortable as you so politely refer to him as daddy. He gets off on the embarrassment more than the word itself, but he does enjoy the nice little ring it has.
Aftercare can be mildly nonexistent with Sukuna. Sometimes his form of aftercare is making you cock-warm him after he just spent hours abusing your most sensitive bits. But other times he'll wrap you in his arms and whisper about how "nobody will ever love you like daddy does." brainwashing you into being content with him.
4. Gojo Satoru
Satoru has mixed feelings about the whole "daddy kink". Depending on your relationship, it may not be rare for you to jokingly call him daddy. Just as he will jokingly call you mommy. But these little "jokes" take a steep turn one night when he's fucking you stupid and he asks you to call him daddy for real. For some reason, it does him in. You'll later learn that you rather enjoy when he calls you mommy while you fuck and then it turns into this awkward little "we shall not speak of this outside of the bedroom" topic. You'll use the words against each other when in public just to see the other get worked up. But, much to Satoru's dismay, he realizes he really does like it when you call him daddy. He can't even explain it, especially since he would relentlessly tease Suguru for having a daddy kink.
Satoru loves aftercare, especially after times when he's punished you. The same can be said for when you provide aftercare after punishing him... having a daddy and a mommy kink is a whirlwind for the two of you. Satoru will clean you up and the tuck both of you in under the nice comfortable blankets, whispering about how he adores you and appreciates you for letting him live out his little fantasies.
5. Fushiguro Toji
Toji isn't really into the daddy kink... mostly because it reminds him of the responsibilities he ran away from... but if you really have a thing for calling him daddy, he's not going to stop you. Toji actually prefers it when you're mean to him, calling him filthy and rude names, belittling him, and calling him a nasty old pervert. He gets off on you being rude to him while he fucks you stupid. Nothing gets him off more than being called a sleazy fucking perv. He doesn't know why but you degrading him will have him blowing his load shamelessly in minutes. But if you really want to call him daddy, Toji will for sure entertain you. Because fuck does he love putting a brat in their place.
When it comes to aftercare, it really depends on your relationship. Toji may just blow his load and then dip, leaving you to clean up and pull yourself together. But if Toji has feelings for you, or if you fucked him really good? He'll clean you up before collapsing in bed beside you.

This or That
Honestly, I had so much fun coming up with answers for this. I never thought about my preferences in fics for too long, so I had to make up my mind with some of these but I learned a lot about myself. This was unexpected.
I was tagged by @dharma-writes ♥︎
And forwarding to @faerieavalon @cornfedcryptid @serial-chillr @johaeryslavellan @rivainisomniari @midnightprelude and anyone else who likes to join. As always, sorry if you’ve been tagged already. :3
Without further ado: here are my answers for this round of “This or That.
slow burn or love at first sight
I love any romance that manages to build up a relationship and adds more and more tension between two characters over time. It’s so much more rewarding when they finally get together.
fake dating or secret dating
What is fake dating in this context, exactly? Like “let's pretend to be a couple so my parents don’t get upset about me being single”? Or “please pretend to be my new boyfriend so my ex gets jealous (so I can later fall in love with you)”? Because that sounds like something I don’t like. It makes being single look like it’s the worst (it’s not) and forces at least one character to do something they don’t want to. So, secret dating it is for me.
enemies to lovers or best friends to lovers
I can’t recall an enemies-to-lovers story that really stuck with me, tbh. I prefer fics in which the couple is interested in one another and shows a great deal of respect before finding themselves in love with the other (hence my tendency towards slow burn).
oh no there’s only one bed or long-distance with correspondence
Oh, the sudden intimacy. Let’s have some of that. :p
hurt/comfort or amnesia
As someone who enjoys stories with a strong emotional conflict at the core, I’m all for hurt/comfort in fics. Also, amnesia stories have been done so many times by now that the plot is fairly predictable.
fantasy au or modern au
Have to admit: AU is not really my thing. If a fantasy world is set in modern times, I feel somewhat uncomfortable. When a character from a modern world gets drawn into a fantasy world, I have a hard to time to adapt to that, too. I wish I knew why but I have no idea. It’s just a squick, I guess. I prefer AU that experiments with a certain event going down differently or a character who turns out not to be dead and such things, but those are usually not super canon-divergent.
mutual pining or domestic bliss
Mutual pining all the way. Mostly because of my preference for bittersweet romances (I’m into Solavellan for a reason... :).
smut or fluff
Okay, this was hard to decide. When it comes to writing, I’d say I prefer to write fluff. It’s been a while since I wrote something smutty and I never tried my hand at it again because it can come of as cheesy or plain ridiculous. I don’t think I have the skill level to execute a good smut scene, tbh. But I love to read smut, especially if it has a nice plot to go with it.
canon compliant or fix-it fic
There are a few time travel fix-it fics that are really good and utilize a lot of the canon to create a new world. That’s why I love them. When I like a book/film/game/etc, I’m into the canon and its lore and don’t need much deviation from it. In both reading and writing, I always seek for stories that are nice additions to the canon or tweak details in an interesting way.
alternate universe or future fic
Due to my love for the canon.... I’d say future fic. Let skip ahead and see what happened to those characters.
one-shot or multi-chapter
A bit of both. I write a lot of one-shots because I enjoy caputring emotional turmoil in a short text. When it comes to reading, I prefer multi-chapter. Dang, some of my favorite fics are like 300,000 words strong. That’s longer than any of the books on my shelves.
kid fic or roadtrip fic
Phew, this really depends. I wrote kid fics when I was younger, but now...? I tend towards roadtrip fic.
reincarnation or character death
Okay, honest answer: I love the drama!
arranged marriage or accidental marriage
I’d like to say neither because in some stories, both options are presented without consent from at least one character and I’m not into that. I have seen a few stories with an arranged marriage where the couple involved is okay with that and they grow on each other without a ton of murder and/or domestic abuse. That’s nice. But otherwise... idk.
high school romance or middle-aged romance
Maybe this an “I’m Too Old For This Sh*t” type of answer, but I love middle-aged romance. I love to see characters in their prime come together (preferably in a slow burning way) and build a strong romantical bond that turns them into a power couple. Being in my thirties, I can relate to that a lot more. Besides, I wrote a lot of angsty teenage/highschool romance when I was a teen myself, so I satisfied that demand early on, I guess. :p
time travel or isolated together
Half a year ago, I’d say I don’t like either of these things, but there are a lot of Solavellan time travel fix-it fics that have proven me wrong.
neighbors or roommates
Friends getting into trouble together for funzies? Yes, please!
sci-fi au or magic au
As said above, AU is not really for me. But that’s okay.
body swap or genderbend
Hm... I haven’t read or seen a good body swap in a long while (it’s up there with “amnesia” as a trope that has been done too blandly for too many times). I do like experimentations with gender, however.
angst or crack
Angst is the natural companion of hurt/comfort, so yeah, sign me up for that!
apocalyptic or mundane
Phew, idk? Apocalyptic, I guess. Or a bit of both? I love stories in which everything goes to hell. But I do love a layer of mundane in such a fic as well. Like, everything that focuses on the characters and their daily struggles within an apocalyptic setting.

Did the Risk pay off?
Did you enjoy my little April Fool’s Joke? Did anyone even notice it??
Sorry about that. It’s not usually like me to joke like that, but the reason I did so was because its probably the last time I’d have the opportunity to ever pull an April Fool’s Prank about this project again.  That is to say, I am very confident that by next April Fool’s Day - 2022, I’ll be long done with Season VI.
It’s a little sad to say that, but mostly triumphant on my end. There was a little truth in that 4/1 post. I Did go on a Marvel bend and rewatch the entire MCU for funzies, and I was taking a long ass time on getting out Ep. 13, but believe me. I wasn’t over or burnt out from X at all.  I just needed a little time to figure out how to execute what I wanted to do properly.  I’m mostly satisfied with the turnout. =D
For those of you who haven’t read S. VI - Ep. 13 yet, I highly suggest you do so, because there will be Massive Spoilers ahead.  Since the tail end of Ep. 11, I set X up for a risky fanficky side-adventure.  And now that I’ve committed to it and it’s officially out there, the only question that’s left to ask is... Did the risk pay off??
First, I guess I should admit that my planning for the 2nd Arc was always hazy, even after finishing up Ep. 7, when X defeated the Nightmare Zero.
I knew in Ep. 8, we were going to have a lot of Zero getting reacquainted with the gang and that I was going to have to resolve the plot hole of X5′s Bad Ending, lining up with the way he acts in X6 - as a Zero fanboy.  So the returning Memory thing factored in big time.
Ep. 9 was Zero’s first mission out while X recovered.  My plan was to always have X get in that portal and face Dynamo.  But what would come after was a giant mystery to me.
I didn’t want X to keep bumping into to Dynamo every time he got in a portal.  And I also didn’t want him to keep bumping into High Max either.  All of High Max’s dialogue and interactions thus far indicated that he wants X dead, and based off of the rules I set up for the Portal Dimensions, X couldn’t just leave in the middle of a fight.  That’s also not his style.
So in a way, I kind of wrote myself into a hole.  I’d either have to end High Max early, (which I didn’t want to do), or I’d have to get creative.
Then something clicked out of nowhere.  Something that could be very Nostalgic and Special, but would it work??  When X gets to the Fire Portal, he could face a Nightmare Vile from X1.  Then in the next portals, he could face Nightmare versions of his other bullies from the rest of the games. X2 - Violen & Agile, X3 - Bit & Byte, X4 - Double...  It could be great!  But what purpose would it serve other than Fan Service?
It’s a great question that I’m still asking, but ultimately - my alternative was to have X face High Max prematurely and lose [where it would be very hard to have High Max spare him.] Or to have X prematurely defeat High Max, which again I really didn’t want to do.  And Dynamo was way too injured to just keep taking beatings from X.  That’d get very boring and annoying very fast.
So I went for it.  It took 2 episodes to get there, but in Ep. 11 X took on Nightmare Vile...  And honestly, I thought it was great!  While he was doing that, Zero was facing Blaze Phoenix, which was equally exciting to me.
Honestly, in Ep. 12, I wanted to get right to it and call that one Nightmare Lane, but X & Zero needed to recover and I already had planned on them talking everything out, which I was putting off again and again.  That episode named itself once their conversation about X5′s encounter in Antarctica really got going.  I also really kinda loved that ending with X’s failure in the Inami Temple portal.
This set us up for Ep. 13, which I wanted to be an Action-Packed showstopper. So that was the plan all along for this episode, once I committed to the Nostalgic Nightmare idea.  My goal was for X to get to Double, and I made it there. It worked out.  But this is admittedly a very dense chapter.
Part of the point of these Nostalgic Nightmares is to show X’s growth after all this time.  He’s been whining and complaining this whole time about how the Nightmare is too tough, but guess what? He’s already so much stronger than he ever was to previous threats like Vile, the X-Hunters, the Nightmare Police & Double.  I felt like this could be a much-needed confidence booster for him, but also serve as a dual purpose for the bad guys to wear him down, psychologically.  Any excuse I can have to make the villains banter, I’ll also take.  I really like how this is all build up to Metal Shark, but will it pay off is the question?  Will I be able to stick that landing?  Time will tell.
I'm looking forward to writing Ep. 14. Honestly, I wanted to have a whole fight with Double and then some aftermath planned as the true closer to Ep. 13, but upon rereading, it was already dense enough.  [Frankly, it probably could’ve ended when Zero was about to set off to the North Pole Area, but that’s fine.]
Also, I really surprised myself with how good X’s meet up with Phantom was. [His Rescue Reploid name in the game was the ONLY reason for these MMZ Easter eggs.] But now I’m so happy that I’ve been including them, because I’m feeling a bigger picture coming about for when I end this Season.
Levy was just this flirty inclusion to spice up the Alia & X dialogue at first. Anything else with her would be a bonus. Fef became a very necessary device to keep Hal & Kassy safe, while they’ve been stranded in the Magma Area for so long.  Making him a junkie derelict was an interesting choice too. And of course, Phantom was in the Portal at the Central Museum revisit.  I always had this vague sense in my mind that X was going to have a very harrowing rescue mission that kept failing at every revisit, but then he’d bump into Phantom who was holding his own and he’d get this giant sense of hope. Boom. Grainy Effect. Episode ending right there on Phantom.
But of course, in execution that couldn’t happen with the rest that I had planned and that’s fine.  Still, I was surprised at their dialogue with each other. Phantom was really impressive and cool.  Just the premise of this exhausted warrior, whose resigned himself to protecting himself for days, only to bump into X and consider him a fool for getting stuck here with him.
But no. Now, Double has entered the Portal.  And X knows there’s a way out.
[I also never thought about the fact that Phantom would be stuck in the room with him during the fight, so now I’ve got some thinking to do.] lol
Harpy’s save will be next and I don’t mind spoiling that he’ll be in the Recycle Area.  [I did my best to keep to their elements, but the X6 stages didn’t really lend for that.]
Phantom was always gonna be in the Central Museum, because that is game-dictated. Levy could’ve been in the North Pole, I suppose, but the Inami Temple is ridden with females, so it made the most sense to me to make that her domain. Fef being in the Magma Area was spot on. I love that it was his old hangout spot - Dark Haven.  So teen-angsty/broody.
Harpy being in the Recycle Lab is kind of just a circumstance thing, but we’ll talk about it when we get there.
I wanted to go over the writing process to this one, but this is already getting quite lengthy.  I guess I can say that it was straight forward, writing through X’s battle against Violen & Agile. I always wanted Isoc to come in right after, to give us the hint that he’s Serges 2.0. But then, that revisit to the Amazon Area got draggy...  I did my best, but I had to make cuts.  I liked what I did once he got in the portal. His refight with Bit & Byte was pretty cool.  Bringing Marty into it was a fun choice. I did like, how X got his moment of catharsis after all.  [I know there’s a real lost-opportunity with not including iX, but honestly that’d be too much.  If I ever write iX again, I think it’s best if I save him for the Mega Missions series.]
This thing fell apart when I got to the Central Museum revisit. I didn’t want to write that at all... In my script, I had marks at the bottom of the doc for what he’d say in the other totems IF he revisited.  And here we weeeeere.   Yet again, I was in the same position as last year at this time, when I wrote out Ep. 3.  I handled it better, then!  Playing over and over again to find right parts of the stage I wanted to write was annoying.  I bet I missed out on Rescue Reploids too, or Zombie Reploids at this point, but it’s fine.  It’s been so long, they probably just died.  I could always edit that in post, that X passes a bunch of dead bodies.  That’d make for some spooky atmosphere.
At this point, I re-analyzed the entire chapter and decided it was high-time for Zero to wake up and go about his original directives.  Time to add to the layers. It brought parts to life, for sure.  It even cemented other transitions, which was really cool.  I liked that I gave Douglas something else to do other than just, be there...
Once I was actually writing Zero’s stage, it did start to feel like a different episode, but I had a goal to reach and damn it, I was gonna get there! lol What’s good about this is that it moves Zero along in the stage without it being a real pain in the ass.
And that basically takes us to where the episode left off.
For the broken Central Museum part, I wrote X’s interactions with Phantom first. Then, with every Totem, I caught up to it as I could.  Once the Zero layering came about, things pieced together.  Same goes for any extra Villain narrations. The episode definitely started a certain way, and I wanted to keep that up as much as possible.  While also having Alia commentary, when appropriate and necessary.
I like this one. There’s a decent balance amidst all the nonsense I set up for myself.  And I definitely think that all these Portal Revisits are more interesting for X’s Nostalgic Nightmare encounters.  It spins the premise around that they didn’t just create a Nightmare Zero, but also a Nightmare Vile, a Nightmare Violen, a Nightmare Bit, a Nightmare Byte and now a Nightmare Double.  The possibilities are endless.
Yes, X’s mission is a complete side-quest, but guess what?  It makes you think that if he didn’t do this, the Nightmare would be that much worse for everyone later, down the road.  It’s Preventative Action.  It’s pretty neat.
Also, again - every Investigator thus far has been relatively good, but mislead in thinking that X was the enemy.  So once he’d explain it to them, they'd be at a standstill, and pretty much at a loss for motivation.  Go figure that Zero actually battles the evil ones with Infinity Flea and Blaze Phoenix.  But he’ll get a real taste for the good/mislead dilemma soon enough with Blizzard Wolfang.
Then we’ll see how I handle Metal Shark when I get there.  I’m looking forward to it.  I can’t believe I’m almost up to the 3rd Arc already!
But that’s exactly what I was getting at at the beginning of this rant.  This is definitely gonna be my last Season.  [Unless we get an X9 that suddenly ends all cliffhangers.] So with that said, I think the Nostalgic throwback was the right thing to do.  Show us that growth and remind us of where he’s been in a short time span, before we end things proper in MMX’s final season.
I’m getting misty eyed thinking about it already. =P
I’ll see you next time for Episode 14.

All of them for the Rescue verse?
I actually laughed out loud when I saw this. In a good way. Nonnies love the Rescue Verse, I guess! Thank you for submitting this.
I did it, but it’s longish so I’ll put it under the cut. All the Rescue Verse love below!
1: What inspired you to write the fic this way?
I’m pretty sure this was the first time an nonnie wandered into my ask box and just dropped random awesome for me to build off of. To this day, I have no idea who to thank for starting the Rescue Verse, but I love them anyway.
2: What scene did you first put down?
I had never intended to flesh it out into multiple stories. I made up a vague, “things happened and now boyfriends!” sort of background and then just jumped in right at the first line of Rescue. Things went out of control from there.
3: What’s your favorite line of narration?
Let’s go fic by fic for funzies!
Rescue: It’s more a paragraph than a line, but this section is still my favorite.
As he walked, he drew on traits from the men he had grown to love. He pretended he had Angeal’s unflappable composure, the confidence Genesis exuded with every step, and Zack’s friendly cheerful nature. He used those things to take on a persona much like Genesis had. He became a bright eyed, eager Third who had just spotted a beautiful woman.
I liked the idea of Cloud taking things he admired about the others and putting them to use in his own way. It’s also a bit of a play on Cloud thinking he was Zack for part of the OG.
A Lil’ Head Injury: Zack’s hugs might be the most enthusiastic, but Angeal’s were the warmest.
Mission Start: Cloud put on a burst of speed and rushed to cover Sephiroth’s back. Cloud could feel the heat of him along his spine and caught a whiff of vanilla and rose from Sephiroth’s hair as it whipped in the breeze.
I’m a sucker for Cloud and Sephiroth fighting together.
Uncanny Luck - One: He leaned against a wall with his eyes shut, looking for all the world like he was napping at the edge of a battlefield. A few Troopers were eyeing him, unsure if they should attempt to wake him or not.
I love it when Genesis is being a shit. Firaga runs and wild stories about how he burns Troopers alive are all well and good, but I think he would actually be a little more subtle about it.
Uncanny Luck - Two: To the surprise of everyone who was not Zack, Seventh Heaven was quite pleasant.
Dunno. There’s just something about that line that I like, even now.
Unrequited: Angeal thought that the moment should feel more significant, but somehow everything seemed ordinary.
That’s seriously my ASGZC aesthetic. It should be complicated and weird edges all crammed together, and yet it all just happens and it’s good.
Adjustment Phase: Cloud loved and hated the way Sephiroth said his name. It was practically a caress and Cloud always felt it as keenly as he would if Sephiroth were actually touching him. A small part of him wished Sephiroth were actually touching him.
Cloud really struggles with his inner monologue during this fic. I feel like this line really showed that.
Gen/Ang Sickness fic: Even if he pretended that he was above their country roots, Angeal knew Genesis occasionally liked to be reminded of home.
Genesis and Angeal alone together was the easiest to write. Angeal knows Genesis too well to be impressed by his BS. Genesis knows Angeal really knows him and enjoys not being on display for a change.
4: What’s your favorite line of dialogue?
Rescue: Oooh… that’s tougher. Hm. I’ve always been proud of Genesis calling his admirer an “odious little pervert.” I also really liked Cloud and Zack’s “It wasn’t like that.”/”It was exactly like that.” exchange. My favorite though is probably Sephiroth’s line: “In fact, I believe you will be joining me for every public appearance I have for the rest of my life.”
A Lil’ Head Injury: “He came here almost immediately after leaving you to talk to me because he believed he was unfaithful to me. Either that’s love or a complete lack of self-preservation.”
Mission Start: “You’ll stay?”
There’s just something great about how vulnerable Sephiroth is in that moment without really saying anything at all. Though the innuendo at the end about Sephiroth calling Cloud sir is pretty great too.
Uncanny Luck - One: I really like the exchange near the end that’s a callback to the original fic. I was pretty proud of it:
“Are you sure that was him? He seemed kinda, I dunno, innocent-like to be the guy Natalia was talking about.”
“I’m sure. Short for a Solider, blonde spikey hair and blue eyes… always with the Soldier leaders. I saw him fight with the General and then talk with Commander Fair for a little bit. It has to be him.”
“Obviously Natalia was lying about what happened when she tried to flirt with Commander Hewley. I bet she never even talked to him. She was just trying to play it up by saying a Soldier tried to pick her up. Now we both look like idiots for panting over that Third.”
Uncanny Luck - Two: “Besides, I’m pretty sure burning down the building was Sephiroth’s plan for his next night out.”
Unrequited: “I will tell you the same as I told the brute in the kitchen. If you are going to reward me with kisses, that will make me want to quote Loveless more often, not less.”
This line is just so Genesis that I can’t believe I wrote it.
Adjustment Phase: It’s a straight toss up between, “He washes up, just like the rest of us… only with way more shampoo.” and “Hey  there, sexy pants.”/”I’m not even wearing pants.”
Gen/Angeal Sickness fic: It’s no wonder you’re tired, dear, you’re wound so tightly that you can’t even have fun in my imaginary scenarios where we sneak off to a town in the ass end of nowhere to annoy our little trooper friend.”
I can picture Genesis planning elaborate scenarios in his mind when he daydreams and having the more pragmatic Angeal and Sephiroth shoot them down with logic.
5: What part was hardest to write?
The little sexy bits. Zack talking about Genesis’s little game and Sephiroth talking to Cloud near the end of Rescue. Some parts of A Lil’ Head Injury too. I always feel like it reads as awkward as it feels when I write it. Of course, I have no idea if it’s true or not because I’m viewing it through my own awkward filter...
6: What makes this fic special or different from all your other fics?
Honestly, it was the fact that someone asked me to write it. I’ve been in the fandom a while under another penname. When I decided to come back, I scrapped the old stuff that was from when I first started writing and opened a fresh page under a new name. Even when I wrote before, no one came to me for content. They enjoyed it if I created it and put it out there, but they didn’t ask for it. Having someone want me specifically to give their idea life was a really awesome feeling.
7: Where did the title come from?
Zack’s line: “Tonight you learn something new about our relationship. I like to call it the rescue.“
It fit with the prompt too, but that was the line that made it work for me  as a title.
8: Did any real people or events inspire any part of it?
Mostly in the Uncanny Luck follow up stories. I’m definitely that Cloud. I’ve had friendly, fantastic conversations with strangers only for my friends to tease me after for breaking the guy’s heart.
9: Were there any alternate versions of this fic?
No real alternate versions, but I scrapped a plan where I was going to write a bunch of prompts using various mixings of ASGZC and post one a day for a month. I had the first three or four done but I wanted to post them so badly that I just went for it.
I guess you could say that Cloud’s B-Day fics from 2015 are a kind of alternate timeline. I was going to try and make them Rescue Verse stories but they never quite fit the world in my mind.
10: Why did you choose this pairing for this particular story?
Besides it being part of the request, ASGZC was my go to happy place at that point. I had just gone through a rough break up and liked to imagine people being happy together.
11: What do you like best about this fic?
It’s kind of uncomplicated. Whenever I find a prompt I want to use for the boys, I don’t have to worry about fabricating a back story to justify why they’re together. They just are… and it’s awesome!
12: What do you like least about this fic?
By not planning it out, I occasionally write myself into a corner. Once I had a few stories written I wanted to go back and clean it up. There were events I had already alluded to and then had to write around. The more I add to the verse, the more of that I have to work around. It’s also occasionally a struggle to figure out where in the timeline things fit.
13: What music did you listen to, if any, to get in the mood for writing this story? Or if you didn’t listen to anything, what do you think readers should listen to to accompany us while reading?
It’s been so long, I don’t know what I did throw on to write to, but I would guess OC Remix’s Voices of the Lifestream album. It’s usually my go to when I write FFVII fics… if I’m not listening to the original soundtrack.
Particularly fond of Daydreaming Again and Sleep My Sephy.
14: Is there anything you wanted readers to learn from reading this fic?
Not learn, exactly. I more hoped that it would inspire other writers to get into the pairing. I enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it.
15: What did you learn from writing this fic?
It was a good, “you can’t plan for everything” kind of story. I wouldn’t say I plan everything before I write, but I like to know the basic plot before I set fingers to keyboard. This was an exercise in “fuck it, let’s just do the thing!”

Personal Projects and Why They're Necessary
Personal Projects & Why They’re Necessary
I remember the entire reason I started pursuing Illustration/Art/Design as a career. I spent countless hours in my own bubble either drawing, or gluing stuff together, or just ‘making’ something.
Tumblr media
And I enjoyed it. It was fun. Now I’m actually making a career out of illustration, things are a bit more serious than sitting on my Nan’s living room floor gluing toilet paper tubes together to make a ‘castle’ and then painting them in whatever leftover decorating paint she had – when I got really good at gluing things, I got to paint them with the piles and piles of paints I was bought for Xmas, and my birthday, and practically every occasion.
Thanks, supportive family and friends!
Anyway, I have, in the past, fallen into the trap of doing nothing but client work, because money is important, you need it to do mundane things like, afford to live.
I’m side-eyeing you ‘Work for Exposure’ people.
Tumblr media
Space Dude I’m currently chipping away at.
After 12 months of doing nothing but client work, back-to-back, not taking a single moment to work on something just for the sake of ‘making art’, it had quite a negative impact on me. Very little enthusiasm in my work, and my job didn’t feel fun anymore.
And I LOVE my job (it says so right on my twitter profile) but doing nothing but work, day in and day out and not taking any time for yourself is going to run even the most hardcore of work-a-holics into the ground.
I came across this article on Creative Bloq: Why You Must Make Time for Personal Projects It talks about the “20% time” policy, employed by Google, (Which you can read about here, if you’re interested)
 But the general rundown is;
1: It Helps With Motivation
Taking just 20% of your usual work time to work on a personal project – which honestly can be something as small as a few doodles a week – can help keep you motivated and helps with breaking up long periods of professional work. Nearly everyone thinks a ducky in wellington boots is adorable, but sometimes when you’ve drawn 50 of them, you really wanna draw a big ass dragon hoarding some gold, or a werewolf mauling some poor unfortunate soul to death.
Tumblr media
Urban Werewolf, post mauling
Or maybe a bunch of Zelda fanart because you’ve picked up your old Gameboy Advance and you’re obsessed with The Minish Cap, again. And there is merit in drawing fanart, but that’s for another blog post.
2. It Helps Pad your Portfolio
I did a rundown of my own portfolio a few months back (blog post here) and found I was lacking in some areas, areas that my current client work weren’t covering at the time, scifi and space stuff mostly.
Personal Projects are a good opportunity to pad your portfolio/boost areas that are lacking. Want a gig drawing dragons? You should probably draw some dragons
3. It Helps with Your Mental Health
As I mentioned above, going 12 months without a break from client work ran me down, and eventually I found little enjoyment in my work. My mental health undoubtedly suffered and honestly I got a bit ill, I started feeling a sense of dread when I thought about going back to work, and I was tired all the time. Not good, to say the least.
Illustration Friday also covered The Importance of Personal Projects citing Freedom of Expression and an Alternative source of income as some of the reasons to make time for them.
 4. It’s Fun!
That’s the main thing right? What got me into this in the first place, having fun ‘making’ things. My Personal Projects range from doodling random figure drawings to keep ontop of my anatomy practice – sometimes I have long bouts of not drawing many people for my professional work – to painting self indulgent stuff like Werewolves and Space-y things and big big Dragons! And also some video game fanart. Because I can and it’s fun, and that’s the important thing.

Hey! You get so many requests for fics and drabbles and stuff and I was wondering if there was anything on your mind that you'd want us to try our hands at for you! (aka im bored and want to write and you deserve a little something something)
Oh man.  First of all, no one needs to write me anything.  I do this for funzies and my own entertainment, so I’ve got no problems going on the way I do.  But I also get being bored and looking for something to do, soooo:
So, uh, honestly?  Just about anything Shiro Centric will make me a happy toaster.  Any variation of Shiro gets a pamper/spa day is A++ and needs more love (look how much he enjoyed the decontamination shower!!  He loves to be cleaned.  Let him have it).  Alternatively, Shiro + dogs or any sort.  Or Shiro sick fics, especially when he’s too out of it to really control himself and they see more than he wants.
Go wild and tag me and I will probably read it
